Joanna Garcia

Best known for her roles on the hit show, Reba - starring alongside Reba McEntire! and from the CW short lived teen drama, Priviledged.


Born in Tampa, Florida, Garcia was raies by her mother Lorraine, who was a homemaker and by her father, Jay who was a gynecologist. She has one sibling, Michael Garcia. 


She first broke out into the scene at age 10 when she auditioned for her local theater production and ended up scoring the LEAD role! She was original discovered by the Disney Channel, but put school first and acted on the side in school plays. She was also crowed Homecoming Quwwn at Tampa Catholic High School.

While attending the catholic school, she was also discovered by Nickelodeon and wound up starring on TWO seasons of Are You Afraid Of The Dark as Samantha, where she had to commute from Flordia to Montreal, Canada - where the show was filmed.

Joanna attending Florida State University for just a year before she quit to pursue her acting career full time and moved to L.A. She was first cast as Hallie in the series Party Of Five. Garcia also had a recurring role on Freaks and Geeks were she protrayed charachter, Vicki Appleby. Later Garcia won the role in the show that I belive made her famous - the role of Cheyenne Hart-Montgomery, on the The CW sitcome Reba which lasted form 2001-2007. She was then on the CBS comedy Welcome to the Captain which never lasted very long. In the fall of 2008, she became Megan Smith on the CW seriers Privileged. 

Garcia was also in some films you may have seen. 

We saw her act in Not Another Teen Movie, as well as From the Earth to the Moon, Love's Deadly Triangle: The Texas Cadet Murder.

 Later she went on to gain a role in the ABC tv movie, The Initiation of Sarah which aired in 2006. 

Later in 2008 she starred in A Very Merry Daughter Of the Bride, and then just recently she starred alongside Disney Channel alum Ravon in the tv movie Revenge of the Bridesmaids.June of 2009 came the announcement that she would have a small recurring role on the hit show Gossip Girl as Bree Buckly. In December of the same year, she guest starred as Maggie, on the CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother.

Currently, Garcia a scured a role on the ABC sitcome Better with You which centers around two sisters who are at different points in their romantic relationships. We see Garcia get married after being pregnant from a one nite stand in the sitcom.

Garcia got engaged in 2008 to Trace Ayala, who is the co-founder of the clothing company William Rast, the other co-founder - Justin Timberlake! The couple went on to date for two years before calling it quits.

In August of 2009 Garcia began dating New York Yankees outfielder, Nick Swisher. Swisher popped the question in May of 2010 and they were married on December 11 of the same year at the Breakers Hotel & Resort in Palm Beach, Florida!
